Casserole
- 4 cups cooked green beans
(or two 14.5 oz cans drained, or 1 lb fresh trimmed + steamed) - 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional but delicious)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
Topping
- 1 ½ cups French-fried onions
- ½ cup extra cheese (optional)
🍽️ Directions
1. Prep the Base
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together:
- cream of mushroom soup
- milk
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- black pepper
- salt
2. Combine the Casserole
- Add the green beans to the mixture and stir until fully coated.
- Fold in 1 cup shredded cheese if using.
3. Assemble in the Dish
- Transfer mixture into a 9×13 baking dish.
- Smooth out the top evenly.
4. Bake the First Round
- Bake uncovered for 25 minutes.
5. Add the Topping
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle French-fried onions evenly on top.
- Add extra cheese on top if desired.
6. Finish Baking
- Return to the oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the onions are golden and crispy.
7. Serve
- Let it sit for 5 minutes before serving to set.
